Carole Garretson Becallo of Waynesboro, Tennessee, passed from this life on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 76 years of age. She was surrounded by her family. Carole was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, on October 30, 1939. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Pauline Garretson, of Leoma, Tennessee, two brothers, Kenneth Garretson of Five Points, Tennessee, and Max Garretson of Greenville, South Carolina. She is survived by three brothers, Ted Garretson of Leoma, Tennessee, Fred Garretson of Loretto, Tennessee, and Randy Garretson of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, two daughters, Rita Becallo Buckley and husband Darryl of Gautier, Mississippi, Rose Becallo Raney of Rockwood, Tennessee, and two grandsons, Zachary Nicholson of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Sean Caviness of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Leoma High School and then received licensure as a radiological technologist in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked as a dedicated x-ray technician, serving as chief radiological technologist at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee, for 35 years. Her professional dedication to patients and colleagues will be remembered by many. She was an avid gardener and writer, with recent publication of essays about growing up in Leoma, Tennessee. She is lovingly remembered by all of her family and many friends. The family extends gratitude to all of the medical staff at Wayne County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wayne Medical Center, and Maury Regional Medical Center. Receiving of friends will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Burial of cremains will follow at the Freemon Cemetery in Leoma Tennessee, at 4:00 pm.
