Carolyn June
Junkins
June 2, 1943 – April 15, 2026
Carolyn June Junkins was born on June 2, 1943, in Baldwyn, Mississippi, the daughter of the late James and June Hopkins Martin. From the very beginning, her life was defined by a gentle strength, a giving heart, and a quiet grace that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Carolyn devoted her life to caring for others, both in her profession and in her everyday walk. As a Licensed Practical Nurse and graduate of Itawamba Community College, she spent her years offering comfort, compassion, and dignity to those in need. Nursing was not just her career—it was a reflection of who she was.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and as a member of Friendship Baptist Church, she lived out her beliefs with humility, kindness, and love. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sewing and quilting pieces made with care, painting with a creative spirit, and working puzzles with patience and focus. These quiet moments spoke volumes about her character: steady, thoughtful, and full of heart.
Carolyn also knew the comfort of companionship, especially in her beloved pet, Gracie, who brought her much happiness and warmth in her later years.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Legacy Care Team—Emily, Delana, Lexi, and Sarah—for the exceptional care and kindness they showed, as well as to her dear friends, Benny and Annette Pratt, whose love and friendship meant so much to her.
Carolyn departed this life on April 15, 2026, in Ramer, Tennessee, at the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 13 days. While her passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, her life is a testament to love, service, and quiet faith. The legacy she leaves behind is not only in the lives she touched, but in the example she set—of gentleness, resilience, and unwavering care for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Englehardt of Ramer, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Leslie Garner and husband Clay of Finger, Tennessee, and Chelsea Shaw and husband Jeff of Michie, Tennessee; her great-granddaughter, Gillian Rickman and husband Trey of Selmer, Tennessee; and her great-grandsons, Clayton Garner Jr. of Finger, Tennessee and Cowboy of Michie, Tennessee. In each of them, her love continues, carried forward in the stories, lessons, and memories she leaves behind.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Searcy; her son-in-law, Rickey Lynn Pearson; and her beloved pet, Prissy.
Carolyn’s life was not measured in grand moments, but in the quiet, faithful way she loved, served, and gave of herself. Those who knew her will remember her not only for what she did, but for how she made them feel—cared for, comforted, and never alone. Her memory will remain a steady light in the hearts of all who loved her.
