Mrs. Carolyn Jo Phillips, age 86, passed away in the early hours of  May 7, 2026, at Senatobia Healthcare and Rehab in Senatobia, MS.

Carolyn was born in South Bend, IN on September 17, 1939, daughter of the late Dallas Eugene and Regena Inez Jaynes Lauchner. She grew up in South Bend and married James Howard Phillips in 1956 and they made their home in South Bend until June of 1968 when they moved to Memphis.

She worked for Associated Milk Producers Incorporated as a dispatcher for 20 years. She then worked as a clerical worker for IMC Trucking for about 16 years, retiring in 2005.  Mr. Phillips preceded her in death on May 27, 2007.

She was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing, watching TV (especially Fox News), shopping on Amazon and had enjoyed traveling with James.  She also loved her dog, "Puppy" and enjoyed giving it treats and taking it on rides in the car.

Carolyn is survived by her son James Andrew "Andy" Phillips of Collierville, a daughter Sheri McReynolds (Billy) of Cabot, AR; seven grandchildren Will, Josh, Ronny, John, Charlie, Janie and David; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Saundra Kinzer of Como, MS.

In addition to her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by a two sons Jack Wayne Phillips and Ronald Leon Phillips; a brother Ronald Lauchner and wife Ida; and two grandchildren James Robert and Jimmy.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue Chapel with Dr. John Enoch officiating. Burial will be at Johnson Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Ave Chapel on Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM service time.
