Mrs. Carrie died peacefully and quietly on Monday night, September 21, 2009 about 10:00 pm , at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 1 Month, 18 Days with her children , grandchildren , daughter-in-laws and niece at her side singing softly. She was born August 3, 1929 in Waynesboro, Tennessee the daughter of the late Foster and Hester Odle Lynn. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Risner was preceded in death by her husband; Cleo Risner and son Timothy Risner.

Mrs. Risner was a Homemaker and member of the Collinwood Church of God in Collinwood, Tennessee.

She was a loving mother to 7 kids. She taught them true Christian Values of caring for others, empathy, humility, and sympathy. Anyone could tell her troubles and she would listen. When her Uncle had no one to look after him She and Cleo took care of him until his death. When her Aunt needed help Carrie took her in and cared for her hand and foot until her passing. Grandkids found their way to her home that had to be cared for as well, and she loved them through any hard times they had.

Carrie worked had all her life in caring for others. She did not just talk about Christian Values she lived them. Carrie didn't complain, whine or gossip. She didn't get the new dress or even the new washing machine, any extra money always went for kids. She gave us many things and maybe the most important was love and the values that she lived by.

I remember she used to tell us, "No one is better than you are, even if your blue jeans are older and have more patches; and you are no better than anyone else either. Don't you ever forget it."

Carrie Lynn Risner was a beautiful soul that will be missed, by everyone that ever knew her, but most by her kids, grandkids, great grandkids; brother , niece and nephews that had the very good fortune of spending the most time with her.
