CARROLL WILLIAMS
Cleveland, TN: Carroll Douglas Williams age 78, passed away October 29, 2021 at his home in Cleveland, TN.
He was born August 20, 1943 in Mifflin, TN, the son of the late Joseph Edward and Ophelia Joyner Williams. He grew up and attended school in Mifflin. He married Geraldine Cupples on January 27, 1962, they were married fifty-nine years. They made their home in Mifflin. He was a Baptist in belief.
He was a truck driver for Copen Associates for well over twenty years retiring in 2005. He then opened his own business, Williams Discount Tires in Mifflin. He enjoyed fishing and working on old tractors.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Geraldine Cupples Williams of Cleveland; four sons, Doug Williams (Chrystal) of Henderson, Mark Williams (Jeanette) of Henderson, Chris Williams (Kim) of Adamsville and Barry Williams (Jennifer) of Mifflin; two daughters, Lana Nelson (Steve) of Finger and Shannon Rymer (Dusty) of Cleveland; twenty four grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; a brother, Dewayne Williams of Mifflin and three sisters, Rachel Ellington of Mifflin, Margie McGhee (Carlos) of Mifflin and Lola Austin of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, at Mason Wells Cemetery with Randy Pickens officiating.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
