Cecelia Keller

Mrs. Keller died Monday morning at Laurelwood Health Care in Jackson, TN.



The widow of Crawford Keller, who died on December 4, 1980, she worked as a seamstress with Barrett and Stevens in Bolivar. She was born in Hardeman County to Robert Hershel Hammons and Mamie Helen Brown Hammons, both of whom preceded her in death and lived all of her life here. She enjoyed gardening and entertaining others with her "elocution" of poetry. She was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School class of 1938, and was known for her ministry to the community and to the local jail. She was an active member of Bolivar First Baptist Church where she participated in the Golden Sounds Choir, enjoying singing all of her life.



Survivors include a daughter, Clarice Kemp of Bolivar; a son, Robert E. 'Bubba' Keller of Bolivar; a grandchild, Rebecca Parks and two great grandchildren, Ashland and Hudson Parks. In addition to her husband, whom she married in 1939, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Laura Alvarado; three brothers, Keelon, Edsel and Kit Carson Hammons; and a sister, Vadine Koenig.
