Cecil Murray

Cecil McCullar Murray was born October 14, 1921 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Ermic and Blanche Hewitt McCullar.



She was united in marriage to Grover Murray on September 23, 1939. Mr. Murray preceded her in death on March 24, 1975 after 35 years of marriage.



Mrs. Murray was a homemaker. She was a self-taught artist who loved to paint and draw, make quilts, and do needlework. She was also an avid doll collector. Mrs. Murray was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church.



Mrs. Murray departed this life on January 3, 2011 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 2 Months, 20 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Mullins and husband Nicky of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren: Leigh Ann Harrington and husband Mike of Birmingham, AL, Libby Estes and husband Jim of Huntsville, AL, Angie Baker and husband Tony of Selmer, TN, and Jamie Durbin and husband Jay of Selmer, TN; eight great-grandchildren: Jake Baker, Gage Baker, Meredith Harrington, Ally Harrington, Lily Beth Durbin, Tess Durbin, Tate Estes, and Cooper Estes; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Murray of Huntsville, AL; close friend, Max Neill of Savannah, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lynn Murray; two sisters, Dorothy Louise McCullar and Rena Mae McCullar; and three brothers, Ray Hewitt McCullar, Billy Joe McCullar, and Jamie Virgil McCullar.
