Cecil Tillman

Mr. Tillman passed away Monday, November 23, 2015, at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis.
A native of the Hebron community in Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Jack and Ida Vaughn Tillman, living his entire life in this area. He served in the US Army during World War II in the infantry in the European theater. He married Carrie Louessie Tillman and she passed away on April 8, 1987. Mr. Tillman was a founding member and former deacon of the Dixie Hills Baptist Church and worked 40 years for Armira Corporation in Bolivar.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Matthews Tillman; his daughter, Cecilea (Terry) Frye of Memphis; three sisters, Dessie Mayberry of Bartlett, Betty Harris of Bolivar and Jane Montgomery of Pottsboro, TX; two grandchildren, Kerry (Ramsey) Abbott of Knoxville and Ethyn Frye of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews.
