Charles William Brooks

Charles William Brooks, Jr. departed this life on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 14 days. He was born in Waycross, Georgia, on November 23, 1940, the son of the late Charles William Brooks, Sr. and Onnie Juanita Mincey Brooks. On July 17, 1981, he was united in marriage to Bertha Mae Franks.

Charles was self employed as an upholsterer, which he enjoyed, and a member of the Savannah Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved to cook.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae Stricklin Brooks of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Melanie Richards, Cynthia Ziegler, and Anna Brooks, all of Michigan; step daughter, Rita Jackson of Linden, Tennessee; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Brooks, Judy Edwards, and Elaine Brown, all of Savannah,Tennessee; and brother, Gary Brooks of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Cross.
