Charles Edward Butler

Charles Edward Butler of Waynesboro, TN was born February 5, 1947 in Florence, AL, the son of the late Arnett Butler and Veda Lancaster Butler. He was united in marriage to Ruth Hernandez on June 9, 1967.

Mr. Butler, a retiree of Eaton Corporation in Hohenwald, TN, was a member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964, was stationed in Turkey 18 months in Security and returned to Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, TX.

Mr. Butler departed this life, Friday, October 5, 2018 at Wayne Medical Center,Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 8 Months.

Survivors include, his wife Ruth Butler, Waynesboro, TN; a son, Jeremy Butler, Nashville, TN; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Butler, Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Carter and Hailey; a brother, Roger Butler, Waynesboro, TN; a sister, Glenda Crews, Muscle Shoals, AL; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Butler was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Yeiser and a brother, Paul David Butler.

Services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Miller officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2018 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Butler, Kyle Prince, Doug Crews, Jonathan Prince, Lee Brewer, Keith Butler with Carter Butler and Bryan Butler as honorary pallbearers.
