Charles David "Charlie" Covey, 73, of Germantown, passed from this life Friday, December 22, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
He was born August 7, 1950, in Memphis, son of the late John Tidwell Covey and Beulah Marie Stevens Covey, living all of his life in Memphis. He was actively working at Grafco Inc., in outside sales for 48 years and was still working up until his death. He married Rosemary Durham on June 28, 1980, and together they raised their family and he enjoyed working on the family farm. He was a big Civil War buff and loved being with his family, working puzzles and was known to always play jokes on others in a loving manner. Fishing was one of his main hobbies, other than being around his grandchildren, and he was extremely close to his brother. Mr. Covey was a Christian, and attended Grace Evangelist Church.
In addition to his wife, Rosie, survivors include four daughters, Charla Truett (Davey) of Plano, TX, Cayce Kaufman (Steve) of Lubbock, TX, Rita Ray (Jim) of Clanton, AL, and Jamie Durney of Jupiter, FL; brother, John Covey of Olive Branch, MS; and six grandchildren, Lauren Ray, Cydnie Kaufman, Cate Truett, Nic Kaufman, Cara Truett and Cecily Kaufman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Meagan Ray, son in law, Robert Durney, sister in law, Suzanne Covey and niece, Cindi Cannon.
