Charles Valton Davis

Charles Valton Davis was born May 23, 1927 in Lauderdale Co., Alabama, the son of the late Haggard J. Davis and Maude Grimes Davis Copeland.Mr. Davis was a retired factory worker and of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran of WW II and was a member of the U. A. W.Mr. Davis departed this life on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Annex in Florence, Alabama at the age of 82 Years, 27 Days.He is survived by a brother, James Davis of Florence, AL; nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Davis Thompson. Services will be held Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Greenview Funeral Home Chapel, Florence, AL with Leon Cole officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the McGlamery Cemetery at Collinwood, Tennesseewith Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be one hour before the services at Greenview Funeral Home, Florence, AL. Pallbearers will be Sammy Arnold, David Lovelace, Bobby Blackburn, Robert Grimes, Vance Young, and John Young.
