Charles Franklin DeLappe

Savannah

Charles Franklin Delappe of Savannah, Tennessee was 75 years, 3 months, 13 days. He was born in Kenton, Tennessee and was raised in Memphis, Tennessee by Edith Mayfield and Charles Nelson Delappe.

He retired after 29 years as a Wastewater grade 4 Operator and Supervisor at the TE Maxson South Treatment Plant in Memphis, Tennessee.

Charles was an E4 Army Vietnam Veteran who was the personal driver for General Westmoreland for the longest part of his time in Vietnam.

Charles was a loving husband and father. He thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors. He loved tending plants, gardening, boating, camping, muscle cars, street racing, fishing, riding four wheelers, mowing with his John Deere mower and just relaxing on his patio. Charles and his wife moved to Savannah, Tennessee in 2013 to their retirement home. 

Charles was a Christian baptised at Macon Road Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. His favorite bible verse is John 3:16. He is now blessed to be free and home forever with his Savior and Heavenly Father. 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Nelson and Edith Mayfield Delappe. He leaves his loving wife of 44 years Marsha; daughter, Michelle Nicole Hendricks of Olive Branch, Mississippi; son, Stefon Philipp Delappe of Bartlett, Tennessee; brother, Timothy Delappe of Arlington, Tennessee; two granddaughters and four great grandchildren. Along with three loving pets.
