Charles Allen Eaton of Collinwood, TN, was born October 9, 1947 in Lutts, TN, the son of the late Johnnie Monroe and Esther Earline Holt Eaton. He was united in marriage to Wanda Mae Newborn on May 19, 1970.
Mr. Eaton was a retired press operator from Murray Ohio manufacturing, was a United States Army veteran, serving in the 11th Armored Calvary Division as Sp4 E4, 1969 to 1970 during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion.
He was a born again Christian, that enjoyed serving the Lord. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, as well as watching his favorite sport, baseball. He especially enjoyed spending time with and supporting his grandchildren.
Mr. Eaton departed this life on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 5 Months, 1 Day.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, 9 months and 10 days, Wanda Mae Newborn Eaton of Collinwood, TN; a son, Greg Eaton and wife, B. J. of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Amy Balentine and husband, Jason of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Camryn and wife, Hannah, Kaylee, Brilyn and Caleb; his pride and joy, his dog, Darby; a sister, Jeanette Brewer and husband, Dan of Collinwood, TN and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Eaton was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Junior and J. P. Eaton and three sisters, Alta Sherrill, Doris Wilkerson and Ivon Pierce.
Services will be held onWednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood with Camryn Eaton, Greg Eaton, Earl Rich and Dennis Hanvey officiating. Burial will follow in Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Balentine, Myles Prince, Terry Wright, Darrell Sherrill, Tim Newborn, Vince Newborn, Scott Davis and Eugene Pierce. Serman Martin will serve as honorary pallbearer.
