Charles Edward Henry

Charles Edward Henry was born February 10, 1924 in McNairy, TN. He was the son of the late Samuel and Izola Frye Henry. He was married February 26, 1944 to his first wife, Burice Edna Causey, who preceded him in death on February 3, 1972. He was married June 22, 1974 to his second wife, Martha Bell Mathis, who survives. Mr. Henry lived in Selmer, TN and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the Bethel Springs, TN United Pentecostal Church also known as the Springs at Bethel. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.Mr. Henry departed this life on August 8, 2011 at Tri-county Convalescent Home in Adamsville, TN at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 29 days. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Martha Henry of Selmer; a daughter, Zola Hylton of Eden, NC; a step-daughter, Barbara White of Bolivar, TN; a sister, Nora Sharpe of Jackson, TN; two brothers, Ray Henry of Jackson, TN, Sammy Henry of Manchester, TN; Three grandchildren, David Glenn Thacker of Selmer, Margaret Marcus of Selmer, Larry Donald Joyner of Tulsa, OK; two step-grandchildren, Darrell White and Susan Gupton of Nashville, TN; nine great grandchildren. A host of extended family and friends.In addition to his parents and first wife, Mr. Henry was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Frances Thacker, a granddaughter, Linda Faye Thacker, and a brother, Lloyd Henry.
