Charles Douglas Hill

Charles Douglas Hill of Florence, AL, formerly of Collinwood, TN was born in Waynesboro, TN, the son of Imogene Brewer Hill of Collinwood, TN, who survives and the late Everett Hill.

Doug was a 1974 graduate of Collinwood High School, former member of the UNA Collegiate Singers, former music minister at Collinwood First Baptist Church, member of Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence, AL, one of the founding partners of Smokin' of the Boulevard and the owner of Translift Sales and Service, Inc. in Florence, AL.

Doug departed this life suddenly on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 61 Years.

Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen Bazemore Cole Hill of Florence, AL; a son, Andrew (Andy) Hill and wife, Julie of Killen, AL; daughter, Alice Hill of Florence, AL; stepdaughters, Kelli Cole Staudt and husband, Matt of Hartselle, AL and Janna Cole and fiance' Jack Koppert of Houston, TN; grandchildren, Marisa and Eli Hill; a brother, Jimmy Hill and wife, Pam of Florence, AL; nephew, Chad Hill; nieces, Jenny Lee Hill Hall and husband, Blake and Molly Hill Boughner and husband, Chad and great-nephew, Talmadge Hall.

In addition to his father, Doug was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Charlie and Bertha Throgmorton Brewer and paternal grandparents, George and Virgie Jones Hill.

Memorial services will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 3 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, TN with Rev. Jim Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation will be from 1 pm to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Collinwood First Baptist Church, the Butterfly Foundation or to a charity of the senders choice.
