Mr. Johnson passed from this life on Thurday night, June 28, 2012, at Baptist-DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, MS.
A native of Madison county, Mr. Johnson was a former resident of Bolivar and Memphis. He lived several years in Olive Branch, MS before moving to the Byhalia-Red Bank area 5 years ago. He was a Baptist in belief and was a retired driver for Carradine Wholesale Company. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Occupying Forces in Japan following the war. He also served in the Korean War, where he was captured and held as a Prisoner Of War. He was the widower of Mary Alice Johnson who died in 1978.
He leaves a sister, Mary Ervin of Bolivar; Special Care Giver, Dorothy Tice of Red Bank, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Kathryn Hurt, Lula Mae Trimm, Marie Vales and Linda Blankenship; and five brothers, Hubert, Earl, Paul, James and John T. Johnson.
