Charles Knox "Shag" McAlpin

Mr. Charles McAlpin, age 64 of Middleton, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was a native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, the son the late Golden and Jubie Howell McAlpin.

Mr. McAlpin attended Bolivar schools until 11th grade and was a 1971 graduate of Middleton High School. He was a member of the New Bethany Church of Christ and on August 10, 1973 was united in marriage to Sandra Diane Tranum. Shag was a cab fabricator at Thyssen-Krupp Elevators in Middleton where he had worked for 25 years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working on vehicles with his grandkids.

He leaves his wife, Sandra Diane Tranum McAlpin; his son, Jeremy Shane (Lori) McAlpin; two sisters, Carolyn Townsend and Barbara (Mike) Stamey; and two grandchildren, Morgan and Austin McAlpin, all of Middleton.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Roger Townsend.
