Charles Edward Larence Lane

Charles Edward Larence Lane was born April 15, 1925 in Bolivar County County, MS, the son of the late Harry Harlan and Ellen Pace Lane. He was a member of the Adamsville Church of Christ. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, South Pacific Amphibious Unit. He was united in marriage to Jetty Williams on June 25, 1948. Mrs. Lane preceded him in death on August 13, 2006. Mr. Lane was a 43 year Riverboat Captain for Mid-South Towing Company.

He departed this life on August 20, 2018 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 93 Years, 4 Months, 5 Days.

Mr. Lane is survived by a daughter, Karen Lane Stephens and husband Jim of Olive Branch, MS; a son, Charles E. Lane Jr. and wife May of Corinth, MS; two grandchildren, Joey and Russell Lane both of Corinth, MS; two great grandchildren, Ansylee and Dalton Lane.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Lane was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles E. "Shelby" Lane III; three sisters: Ruby Ivy, Kathleen Lockwood, Mairan Sosebee; two brothers, James and Harry Lane.
