Charles Leonard Massey

Mr. Massey passed away Thursday morning July 22, 2010 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Jan Massey, who survives, he retired in 1990 as a supervisor after 28 years of employment at Western Mental Health Institute. Mr. Massey was born February 10, 1928 in Masseyville to the late Virgil Franklin Massey and Odell Autry Massey and lived in Bolivar since 1960. He was a member of Mitchell's Chapel Baptist Church in Masseyville and attended Dixie Hills Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married August 7, 1993, he is survived by two daughters, Vicki Massey Mahan of Covington and Beverly Edwards of Destin, FL; a son, Darryl Massey of Bolivar; a sister, Dorothy Roland of Henderson; nine grandchildren, Heather Motes, Shannon Minderman, Blake Edwards, Hunter and Ross Wiggins, Jarrett, Kelsey, Denim and Brookelyn Massey; eight great grandchildren, Demi and Taylor Richardson, Landon Keller, Savannah Motes, Chase Carter, Emma Perry, Max Minderman, Braden Massey; and one great great grandchild, Tysen Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Wiggins; and two brothers, Dale and Sammy Massey.
