Charles Roy "Chuck" McColloch, Jr., known for his dedication to his work and passion for nature, passed away on May 11, 2024, in Middleton, TN. He was born on January 19, 1951, in Shelby County, TN. Chuck started his career at South Central Bell (now AT&T) as a service technician and later retired as a cable splicer after 30 years of service. He was a proud member the Communication Workers of America (CWA) Union.
In his time, Chuck found solace in the quiet beauty of his home near Middleton. He nurtured and fed hundreds of hummingbirds each year, capturing the attention of the Audubon Society. An avid outdoorsman, he possessed a wealth of knowledge about flora and fauna. His love for hunting and fishing stemmed from a desire to provide for himself and others.
Chuck lived and passed away, on his own terms, in the idyllic surroundings he, and his friends, crafted for themselves in rural Hardeman County. His final moments were spent surrounded by those friends and loved ones who meant so much to him.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Hagerman, and her husband, Eric, of Southaven, MS; his sister, Catherine McColloch of Olive Branch, MS; and his niece, Shelby Hobbs of Memphis. He also leaves a host of friends. Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Charles Roy "Choppy" McColloch, Sr. and Christine Allen McColloch.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 5 - 8 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Huey's Restaurant, 8179 McGregor Crossing, Unit 200, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Chuck's legacy as a hardworking individual with a deep connection to nature will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
