CHARLES ROBERT SCHIMMELMAN
Milledgeville, TN: Charles Robert Schimmelman, age 68 passed away March 6, 2017 at his home.
He was born February 5, 1949 in Daytona Beach, FL, the son of the late Robert Henry and Marjorie Harris Schimmelman.
He attended schools in Jacksonville, FL. After graduation he joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He spent his adult career as a car salesman in Florida and Georgia. He moved to Milledgeville in 2013. He was a member of the Saltillo American Legion Color Guard and he was Catholic in faith. He enjoyed fishing, mountain climbing and hiking. He loved his dogs, especially his favorite, Racer.
Mr. Schimmelman is survived by his wife, Debra McCausland Schimmelman of Milledgeville; a son, Joseph Schimmelman of Rome, GA; two stepsons, Richard Fields (Crystal) of Herman, MO and Anthony Saccucci of Herman, MO; three sisters, Donna Bourland of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Ann Massey of Marietta, GA and Joanne Griffin of SC; a brother, Allen Schimmelman of Orange Park, FL.; grandchildren, Sierra Fields, McKenna Fields, Carissa Saccucci, Toarin Saccucci, Chloe Saccucci, Katrina Saccucci, Bruce Wayne Saccucci, Michael Fields, Savannah Fields and Tiffany Fields.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Fields; two brothers, Wayne Schimmelman and Thomas Schimmelman.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Father Richard Cortese officiating.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday.
In lieu of flowers family request donations may made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
