Charles Delano Smith

January 24, 1940 — April 30, 2017

Charles Delano Smith was born January 24, 1940 in Chattanooga, TN the son of the late Henry Albert and Florence Mae Sutton Smith.

Mr. Smith worked as a foreman for Central Farmer's Industries in Chattanooga, TN for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, following three generations of the Petty racing team. He was a Tennessee Vols football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan, and was an ardent supporter of the American Red Cross as a blood donor. Mr. Smith attended the Red Bank church of Christ for 50+ years. He placed membership with the Soddy Daisy church of Christ in 2000, and maintained his membership there until the present.

Mr. Smith departed this life on April 30, 2017 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Terri L. Eason and husband Dr. Drew Eason of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren: Whitney Carter and husband David of Jackson, TN, Will Eason of Selmer, TN, and Wyatt Eason of Selmer, TN; a great-grandchild, Elliott Nathan Carter of Jackson, TN; and his Lynnfield Place family.

The family of Mr. Smith wishes to extend a heart-felt thank you to the staff of Lynnfield Place for the loving, compassionate care they so graciously provided.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Smith may be made to Freed-Hardeman University Bible Department.
