Sgt. Charlie Qualls was born November 26, 1947 in Corinth, MS the son of Eloise Wilkins Qualls and the late Carl Eugene Qualls.
Charlie served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from
1968-1970. He was released from active duty and stayed in the reseves until 1973. He served his country honorably and proudly.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth King on October 14, 1977.
Mr. Qualls retired as a Sergeant from the Selmer Police Department with 36 years of service. After retiring, he went to work for McNairy County Sheriff Department for 10 years as a bailiff. When he wasn't working in law enforcement he worked with his son in lawn service. He enjoyed the company of his little dog, Lucy. His greatest joy was his two grandkids, Brent and Maddison.
Mr. Qualls departed this life on September 5, 2020 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 72 Years, 9 Months, 10 Days. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Qualls of Selmer, TN; a son, Jeremy Qualls and fiance Cheryl Conder of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Maddison Qualls and Brent Conder; a sister, Peggy Rowsey of Adamsville, TN; three brothers, Jimmy Qualls and wife Vanessa of Corinth, MS, Robert Qualls and wife Diane of Michie, TN, Gerald Qualls and wife Tracy of Michie, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
