Cheri Lynn Cooksey Hill

Our beloved aunt, cousin, and friend, Cheri Lynn (Cooksey) Hill of Adamsville, Tennessee departed this life on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the age of 72.

Cheri was born on September 26, 1952 in Morris Chapel, Tennessee, to Cleo and Emma (Barron) Cooksey.

She was a 1970 graduate of Central High School in Savannah, Tennessee.

Cheri spent 18 years traveling for construction work, worked as a typesetter for American Speedy Printing in Atlanta, Georgia, and later as a secretary for Elam Trucking in Stantonville, Tennessee before her retirement.

She spent much of her younger years showing horses in local horse shows. She was an avid Alabama and Tennessee Titans football fan. When she was not watching football or auto races, she loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

Cheri leaves behind her two grandchildren, Rush and Phoebe Boatwright, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her son, James DeShone Boatwright; her sisters, Emily Ruth Phillips, Peggy McFalls, and Martha Conaway; and her brother, James Monroe Cooksey.
