Chester Thomas Sheets, Jr. departed this life on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the age of 84 years, 7 months, 25 days.
He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on August 13, 1928, the son of the late Chester Thomas, Sr. and Mildred Jewel Sullins Sheets. On September 19, 1946, he was united in marriage to Merlene Christine Wadlington, who survives.
Mr. Sheets served honorably in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas, Skwiat American Legion Post, Teamsters Union, and attended Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Morris Chapel, Tennessee. He had worked for Dow Chemical, Swift & Co., Kuhn Distributors, Ruan Transport, and Clark Equipment. Mr. Sheets enjoyed fishing watching the Chicago Cubs ball games, loved Southern Gospel music, and spending time with his family. He was a very loving person.
Mr. Sheets is survived by his wife of 67 years, Merlene Sheets of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; daughter, Beverly Bildhauser and husband Philip of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Sean Isenbletter and wife Tracy, Shannon Isenbletter, Nicole Bildhauser, and Shelby Sheets; great grandchildren, Kayla Isenbletter, Zachary Isenbletter, Danny Isenbletter, Stacey Isenbletter, Chloe Summerlin, Aiden Bildhauser, and Lucas Sheets; great great grandchildren, Elizabeth Isenbletter and Ryan Isenbletter; brothers, Bill Sheets and wife Maxiene of Farmers Branch, Texas, Carl Sheets and wife Shirley of Michigan City, Indiana; brother-in-law, Ron Wadlington and wife Colleen of Michigan City, Indiana; sister-in-law, Geneva Sheets of Adamsville, Tennessee and Margie Castello of Fort Worth, Texas; a special nephew, Doyle Mashburn of Michigan City, Indiana; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Sheets; a daughter, Pamela Sheets; brothers, Joseph, James, and Jack Sheets; sister, Alma Wondergem, and sister-in-law, Pearl Mashburn.
