Christine Risner

Christine Newborn Risner was born July 8, 1932 in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Elmer Franklin and Ollie Mae Price Newborn. She was united in marriage to Carl (Red) Risner on September 27, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1987.



Mrs. Risner was a retired factory worker and was of the Baptist faith.



Mrs. Risner departed this life on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 2 Months.



She is survived by a daughter, Janey Elaine Risner Brewer of Collinwood, TN; two sons, Roger Lynn Risner of Collinwood, TN, Ricky Paul Risner of Buttermilk Ridge Road, Wayne County, TN; 12 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Sammy Newborn of Collinwood, TN, Lawrence Newborn of Dickson, TN; two sisters, Marlene Holt of Hohenwald, TN, Earline Kilburn of Florence, AL; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Geraldine Blalock.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Risner was preceded in death by two sons, Carvel Gene Risner, Carlton Dwight Risner; a sister, Lorene Newborn Ayers.



Services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Collinwood Church of God in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Bobby Carroll and Josh Stults officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 6 pm to 10 pm and Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 9 am until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Edward Ayers, Brett Gallaher, Brandon Newborn, Doug Fredrick, Eddie Holt, Leo Kilburn. Honorary pallbearer will be Dalynn Teeftaller.
