Todd McAlpin, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Bolivar, Tennessee. Born on July 7, 1971, in Jackson, Tennessee, Todd lived his life with an unwavering dedication to his family, community, and his work as a truck driver for Dorris Logging and an equipment operator. He also served as a reserve deputy for the Hardeman County Sheriff's Department, embodying a commitment to service that touched many lives.
Todd was not only defined by his career, but by his immense love for his family and various passions. He often found joy in playing the drums and immersing himself in music, creating a rhythm that resonated with those around him. His enthusiasm for life extended beyond music; he cherished hunting trips with his grandchildren, which were filled with laughter and memorable moments spent riding side his by side in the great outdoors. He had a particular fondness for cakes–often speaking lovingly of them–and took delight in playing with his grandchildren, making each moment count.
He lived his entire life in Hardeman County, a place he held dear, and carried the values of a devoted Christian, instilling these principles in those he loved. Todd was the embodiment of kindness and support, forever leaving a mark on everyone he met.
He leaves behind a close-knit family who will carry his memory with them. His daughters, Amy McAlpin, Rachel McAlpin, and Ashlee McAlpin, all of Bolivar, along with his son, Jonathan McAlpin, and Ashley, of Hickory Valley, will deeply miss him. His stepson, Blake Manley of Middleton, and his grandchildren—Mason and Tanner Minyard, Blayden and Carson Lowrance, Easton and Wyatt McAlpin, Susanna Wells, and Cali Shields—shared countless beautiful memories with him that will stay with them forever. Todd also had the love and companionship of April Hill, who stood beside him in life.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. However, he was preceded in death by his father, William Clyde McAlpin, his mother, Judye Lynn Jackson McAlpin, his brother, William Clyde McAlpin, Jr., and his granddaughter, Kenzi McAlpin.
Todd's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends. In their grief, they will remember a man who loved deeply, laughed readily, and lived life fully, imparting lessons of love, loyalty, and joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
