She was born and reared in the Old Friendship Community of Chester County, the daughter of Mozelle Holmes Crouse and the late Tommy Crouse. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1971 and married Dennis Lewis that same year. She worked at Salant & Salant Mfg. until the factory closed. She then worked for Cablevision in Henderson becoming assistant general manager. Cablevision became a part of Charter Communications in Jackson and she remained there until 2003. She then went to work with the Madison County School System as an accountant at Bemis Intermediate School until she retired in 2008. She was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Edward Lewis of Henderson; two daughters, Melonie McDaniel and husband Brad of Henderson and Denise Flanagan and husband Billy of Finger; four grandchildren; three brothers, Nickey Crouse of Finger, Anthony Crouse of Jackson and Stanley Crouse of Finger and a sister, Becky Peterson of Medina.
