Bethel Springs, TN

Cindy Joyce Byrum Shipman, age 62, of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, departed this life on December 23, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1963, in Jackson, Tennessee, the beloved daughter of the late Chester Thedford Byrum and Margaret Williams Byrum. On December 24, 1981, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Terry Shipman, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than four decades.

Cindy lived her life with quiet strength, deep faith, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. A woman of simple joys and generous spirit, she found her greatest happiness in caring for her family—especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was a wonderful cook, known for meals made with love and a table that always welcomed one more. Cindy enjoyed sharing her faith and never missed an opportunity to talk about the Lord, offering encouragement and hope to everyone she met.

She had a remarkable gift for growing things, blessed with a true green thumb—able to bring life and beauty from even the smallest seed. Cindy also cherished her loyal dog, Max, who was always by her side. Competitive by nature and quick with a laugh, she possessed a great sense of humor that brought joy to her family and friends. Above all, Cindy was giving, motivating, and deeply dedicated to her home and loved ones, and she loved her husband fiercely and faithfully.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Shipman; four sons, TJ Shipman of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Marcus Shipman and wife Brandi of Gibson, Tennessee, Joshua Shipman and wife Elisabeth of Finger, Tennessee, and Christian Shipman and wife Caressa of Humboldt, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Thedford Chester Byrum, Jr. of Cordova, Tennessee; and one niece, Nikki Byrum of Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tabitha Joy Shipman, whom she carried in her heart every day.

Cindy Joyce Byrum Shipman will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her laughter, and the love she poured into her family. Her life leaves behind a legacy of devotion, warmth, and grace that will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
