Clara Mae Porter Luck of Columbia, TN, formerly of Clifton, TN, was born October 4, 1925 in Giles Co., Tennessee, the daughter of the late Henry Kern and Daisy Marie Tyler Porter. She was united in marriage to Arthur Ives Luck, Sr. on December 15, 1944 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2003.
Mrs. Luck was a seamstress and towboat cook and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Luck departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Life Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 27 Days.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Eva Luck-Taylor of Columbia, TN and Carolyn Jean Luck Reaves of Savannah, TN; son, Donnie Kern Luck of Halls, TN; grandchildren, Michael Todd Rasnick, Christina Marie Hammond, Christopher Shaw Sawyer, Michelle Marie Schackle, Stephen Patrick Luck, Tosha Nicole Lineberry, Andrew David Luck, II, Heather Nicole Pinson, Summer Taylor Blasingim, Autumn Rachelle Taylor, Lindell "Logan" Luck, Conor Patrick Luck, Brian Adam Reaves, Jerry Nicholas Reaves; thirty-four great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Brady of Columbia, TN; brothers, William Riley (Bill) Porter of Oklahoma City, OK, David Ray Porter of Phoenix, AZ, Harvel Kern Porter of Cleburn, TX, Alton Eugene Porter of Columbia, TN, Charles Lee Porter and Garry Donnie Porter both of Mt. Vernon, IN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Luck was preceded in death by sons, Arthur Ives Luck Jr., Andrew David Luck; daughters, Glinda Gail Luck, Eunice Marie Brown Sawyer; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on November 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Harvel Kern Porter and Donnie Kern Luck officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm in the Corinth National Cemetery, Corinth, Mississippi with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN directing.
