Clark Allen Rose

Clark Allen Rose , 59, born to James Albert Jr. and Gladys Rose in Hardin County, TN, October 31, 1949, died at Maury Regional Hospital after a short illness.



He was raised on Hardins Creek where he acquired a love of the land and outdoors. He married Brenda Collie on June 19, 1971 in Waynesboro, TN. He graduated from Hardin County High School in 1967, attended Memphis University, and later earned an associates degree in Agri-Business. After finishing school, he worked with the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, Tennessee Pulp and Paper Company, and K-9, Inc. When he moved back home to Hardins Creek, he worked as a Real Estate Broker for ERA Crunk Real Estate specializing in land and farms.



He attended Wayne Bible Center in Waynesboro and was a member of the Men's Wednesday Bible Study. He was an avid sportsman especially enjoying fishing and fly tying. He volunteered with St. Jude's Hunt for a Cure and Diabetes Race for a Cure. He also donated regularly to The Oaks Fellowship sharing their mission to "grow Godly lives". He is well-remembered for his years of singing with gospel quartets in Hardin County.



Clark is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda, of Clifton; son, Clark Allen, II and wife, Christie of Franklin; daughter Kristina Bragg and husband, Johnny Bragg, two grandchildren, JB and Katherine Bragg all of Jonesborough; and his mother, Gladys Rose of Clifton. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Rose, Jr.



He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend to people of all ages. His reputation as a man of strong character and Christian principles is well-known by many.



A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 23, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church near Clifton, TN with Leo Doyle and Johnny Bragg officiating. Graveside burial to follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to The Oaks Fellowship. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Waynesboro is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be David Collie, Steve Collie, Mark Collie, Jon Collie, Chris Collie, and Jason Collie.
