Obituary

Clayton Edward Davis was born on December 24, 1934, in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of Henry Davis, Jr., and Cleo Gower Davis. He passed away on October 29, 2026, at the age of 91.

On July 13, 1957, Clayton married Katherine Davis. They shared many years of marriage before her passing on October 20, 2004.

Clayton was a man who found enjoyment in the things he loved and the familiar routines that made up everyday life. He enjoyed following football and especially liked tending to his vegetable garden. There was something satisfying about planting, caring for his garden, and watching the fruits of his labor grow. He appreciated having time to enjoy these simple pleasures, and they were among the things that brought him happiness throughout his life.

One of Clayton's lasting legacies is the family he leaves behind. He was a proud father to three daughters, Rhonda Copous and her husband Billy of Nashville, Tennessee; Scarlet Seiber and her husband Dwayne of Smyrna, Tennessee; and Tracey Copeland and her husband Scott of Plano, Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Matthew Seiber and Kristina Seiber, along with his brothers-in-law, Fay Lee and Ray Lee.

In addition to his wife, Katherine, Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Davis, Jr., and Cleo Gower Davis; his brother, W.H. Davis; and his sister, Edith Sandy.

At 91 years old, Clayton leaves behind a family with many years of memories to look back on and stories to share. Though he will be deeply missed, the life he lived and the memories made along the way will continue to hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
