Cledith Ray Melson Sr. departed this life on November 1, 2015 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 67 Year Old.
He was born April 20, 1948 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late J.P. and Walcie Terrah Montgomery Melson. He was united in marriage to Brenda Marie Adams on January 31, 1970.
Mr. Melson served his country in the Army for 12 years during the Vietnam War and worked as a truck driver for 20 years. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Florence Al. He also enjoyed watching sports, cooking and listening to country music.
He is survived his wife Brenda Marie Melson of Florence, AL; a son, Cledith Ray Melson and wife Norma, Muscle Shoals, AL; two daughters, Tammy Michelle Prestige and husband, Gene, Florence, AL, Dedra Renea Hamilton and husband, Jared, Savannah, TN; brothers, Donald Melson and wife, Joan, Joe Melson and wife, Elizabeth, and Dewayne Melson and wife, Shelia all of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Brannon, Melody Crunk, Cheyenne Petty, Kristian Petty, Ethan Brannon, Megan Melson, Gracie Prestrige, Trinity Prestrige, Dalton Brannon, Presley Melson; great grandchildren, Kyleigh Freeman, Colton Alexander, Blake Garcia.
In addition to his parents Mr. Melson was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Melson; and grandparents, Joe Melson, Ethel (Hayes) Melson.
Services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Jerry Hester and Wade Flemming officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lowell Darby, Jared Hamilton, Yuriel Garcia, Ricky Smelser, Billy Bowling and Randy Pace.
