Cledous Ray Ivey

CLEADOUS RAY (C.R.) IVEYwas born in Decatur County, Tennessee on June 17, 1923 the son of the late Oscar and Bessie Wood Ivey.On June 29, 1946 he was united in marriage to Colleen Ricketts, who survives.Mr. Ivey was a member of Saltillo Church of Christ. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the European Theatre. He was retired at the time of his death, but was employed Campbell 66 Express freight line for 34 years as a professional truck driver. Mr. Ivey departed this life on August 23, 2011 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 6 days.In addition to his wife, Colleen, of Saltillo, Tennessee, he is survived by 4 sons, Phillip Ivey and Terri of Spring Hill, Tennessee, John Ivey and Gene of Germantown, Tennessee, Scott Ivey and Lisa of Savannah, Tennessee and Mark Ivey and Alicia of Savannah, Tennessee14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildrenMr. Ivey was also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Jean Grace.
