Clenette Moore's Obituary

Clenette Moore, a beloved daughter, mother, Nana, sister, and cherished friend, was born on January 25, 1956, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was the treasured daughter of Sammy "Papa" Brown and the late Faye Young Brown.

For many years, Clenette devoted herself to serving the communities of McNairy and Hardin counties through her work at Quinco Mental Health. Her compassion and dedication left an enduring mark on those she helped.

A woman of deep faith, Clenette loved the Lord wholeheartedly. She joyfully served at Reel Church, contributing her talents to the cooking team and nurturing fellowship in her Friday Bible study group. Her warmth and kindness extended far beyond the church walls.

Clenette was known for her incredible baking skills, especially her famous chocolate pie and brownies that brought comfort and delight to family and friends. She possessed a green thumb and a patient heart, carefully transplanting heirloom flowers and lovingly sharing cuttings with those she held dear. Gardening was a passion she shared especially with her granddaughters, teaching them amidst the blooms and blossoms of her gardens.

With a “hippie soul,” Clenette expressed her creativity through painting, particularly with watercolors. Independent and caring, she was always ready to lend a hand and take care of others.

An avid reader, Clenette delighted in fiction and took great joy in being an active presence in the lives of her six granddaughters. Proud to be an all-girl Nana, she often declared with a smile, “girls rock,” and rarely missed any of their important events.

Clenette cared deeply for herself, always presenting herself with grace — her full face of makeup was a reflection of her spirit, ever ready for new adventures with her family.

On April 3, 2026, Clenette peacefully departed this life in Corinth, Mississippi, at the age of 70 years, 2 months, and 9 days. She is lovingly survived by her son, Steven Moore, and his wife Jennifer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her daughter, Scarlett Gattis, and her husband Brian of Michie, Tennessee; her father, Sammy “Papa” Brown of Adamsville, Tennessee; six granddaughters — Ella, Addison, and Amelia Moore, London Mae, Mahlon Rae, and Charleston Kaye Gattis; two brothers, Reggie Jones and wife Debbie, and Kelly Jones and wife Jana; as well as a host of extended family and devoted friends.

Clenette was preceded in death by her dear mother, Faye Young Brown; her sister, Vickie Simmons; and her brother, Gary Jones.

Her beautiful spirit, love, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Clenette Moore’s life was a tapestry of love, faith, and joyful service—a true blessing to her family and community.
