Clifford Ray Crites departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 7 months, 13 days.He was born in Santa Clara, California on November 6, 1926, the son of the late Enoch Edward and Nancy Leona Dooley Crites. On June 9, 1952, he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Williams, who survives.In addition to his wife of 61 years, Betty Williams Crites of Savannah,Tennessee, he is survived by his children, John K. Crites of Savannah, Tennessee and Deborah S. Williams of Naples, Florida; grandchildren, Melissa J. Harris, Emily S. McClure, Rebecca L. Crites, and Matthew E. Williams; great grandchildren, Jonathan H. Sanchez, Trenton Sanchez, Sarah E. McClure, Meadow Harris, Sylar Harris, Kelly A. McClure, Alora Harris, and Gemini Harris.He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marcus Crites, Elvis Crites, and William Crites; sisters, Dorthy Crites Richardson, Elsie Crites King, and Viola Crites Howard.Mr. Crites was a veteran having served in the United States Army, and being honorably discharged, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. In addition to Santa Clara, he had lived in Medford, Oregon; Sunnyvale, California; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Oroville, California; and Adamsville, Tennessee. He had worked for Sylvania, in Mt. View, California; Philco-Ford in Palo Alto, California; and retired from Louisiana Pacific Lumber Company as an Industrial Electrician. Mr. Crites attended Living Word Fellowship in Savannah, Tennessee and from 1967-1971, he was a Boy Scout Master for Troop 403 the Santa Clara Council.
