CLYDE BREWER BUTLER
Mifflin, TN: Clyde Brewer Butler age 97 passed away Friday morning May 4, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born October 9, 1920 in Chester County, in the Glendale Community, the daughter of the late Albert Manely and Mary Alice Melton Brewer. She went to school at Glendale and married Jack Butler in 1941. They made their home at Mifflin, where they farmed and raised cattle. She worked at Salant & Salant for twenty years and later at ITT Nesbitt for ten years. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Butler is survived by two sons, Jackie Butler and wife Lola of Mifflin and Jeffery Butler of Mifflin and a daughter, Trudy Butler Colvin and husband Carl of Louisville, KY: five grandchildren Brad Butler, Beth Howell, Rachel Torres, Adam Colvin and Luke Butler; five great grandchildren; one sister, Murdell Barker of Henderson; a niece, Joanne Stansberry and a nephew, Joel McCall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray Paul ‘Jack’ Butler, May 27, 2014 and a brother, Leon Brewer.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, May 5 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Steve Douglas and Carroll Priddy officiating. Burial will follow in Mifflin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday.
