Clyde Garrison

Clyde Garrison was born November 19, 1942 in the son of the late Dewey Lee and Ruby D. Teuton Garrison.

He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Ferguson on October 2, 1965. Mrs. Garrison preceded him in death on October 27, 2018.

Mr. Garrison served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His orders sent him to Can Tho, Vietnam to help protect not only Can Tho but five other provinces. (During the Vietnam War, Can Tho was the home of the ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam) IV Corps capital. The ARVN 21st division was dedicated to protect the city of Can Tho.)

Clyde worked for B&B Construction, Pettigrew Ford and Bud Landreth Motors as a mechanic. In 1984, he started his career with Pickwick Electric Cooperative and worked there for 28 years as a mechanic.

He was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church where he was an active member along with his wife who served as church secretary for 46 years. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, was a wonderful storyteller and a mechanical genius. After the passing of Jo Ann, he took great pride in caring for her 600 varieties of daylilies keeping them mowed and free of weeds.

Mr. Garrison departed this life on June 6, 2022 in Stantonville,TN at the age of 79 Years, 6 Months, 18 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Garrison Williams of Hernando, MS; a grandson, James Garrison Williams and fiancé Harmony Patrick of Hernando, MS; a great-grandson, John Patrick Williams of Hernando, MS; a sister, Betty (Garrison) Plunk and husband Jerry of Stantonville, TN; a brother, Paul Garrison of Stantonville, TN; nephew, Gary Garrison; nieces, Lisa Peterson, Tammy Hollingsworth, Denise Holland, Deborah Wallace, and Teresa Osirio; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Garrison was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel (Garrison) Turnbow, Reba Garrison; three brothers, D.L., Donald, and Wayne Garrison.
