Clyde Hassell Gray departed this life on Monday, March 30, 2020, at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 15 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on July 15, 1945, the son of the late Dewey "Dick" and Annie Hosea Gray. On June 28, 1980, he was united in marriage to Emma Pevahouse, who survives.
Clyde never met a stranger. He was a quiet and humble man who loved God and his family. He was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping with church needs. Clyde spent his free time drawing, painting pictures that he loved to give as gifts, and he used to make lettered signs. He was often referred to as the Mayor of Burnt Church. He was often found outside working in his yard or garden. Clyde was one who never slowed down.
In addition to his wife, Emma Gray, Clyde is survived by his children, Crystal Faith Gray and Clint Hassell Gray and his wife Brooke, and grandson, Elijah Riley Gray, all of Savannah, Tennessee.
In response to Governor Lee's Executive Order 17 which took effect at 12:01 AM March 23, 2020, there will be no public visitations or services until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
