Colene Eloise Baker passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Bolivar General Hospital.



The wife of Joe Burton Baker, who survives, she was a homemaker. She was born January 18, 1931, in Hardeman County to the late Will and Cora Ann Bass Jackson and lived all of her life here. Mrs. Baker was a member of Brint's Chapel Baptist Church and loved gardening, working with flowers, and enjoyed cooking.



In addition to her husband, whom she married in 1948, she is survived by three sons, Frankie Joe Baker of Middleton, Tommy Baker of Pocahontas, and Jackie Wayne Baker of Middleton; three sisters, Maggie McGarrh of Jackson, Shirley Wilson of Bolivar, and Zettie Baker of Selmer; a brother, Madison Jackson of Memphis; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
