Mrs. Hudson, 57, of Middleton, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The wife of Danny Joe Hudson, who survives, she was an Adjunctive Therapist at Western Mental Health Institute for 25 years. She was born June 26, 1952 in Middleton to the late Sidney A. Sims, Jr. and Ann King Sims. When she was 10 years old, she was hit by a car crossing the highway, leaving her paralyzed. She moved to Memphis in 1962, where she attended the Shrine School and graduated from Sheffield High School in 1972. She moved back to Middleton in 1972, where she became the first state Employee of the Year that was handicapped. She spent most of her life in Middleton and was a member of Middleton First Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, who she married March 9, 1979, she is survived by two brothers, Jimmie Dale Sims of Middleton and Sidney A. “Buster†Sims, III of Middleton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ellen King and Dick King; and her paternal grandparents, Flossie Sims and Sidney A. Sims, Sr.
