August 1, 1940 – January 5, 2026
Cordia Elizabeth Cupples, known to everyone as "Pattie," went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Pinson, TN.
Pattie was a beautiful wife, a loving mother and the world’s best Mamaw.
She was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and her family more than anything. She always taught them to love the Lord first, keep praying and everything will fall into place. Her sweetness and caring for others touched the lives of everyone she met.
Pattie truly made her house a home. When she wasn't inside cooking up one of her amazing meals, she could be found outside tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. No one ever left Pattie’s home hungry or without a glass of sweet tea. She made the absolute best dumplings (her grandson, Shane’s, favorite meal), cat head biscuits and pink salad. She took great joy in canning and storing her garden vegetables to be enjoyed throughout the year—a skill she lovingly passed down to her granddaughter, Amy, along with her banana pudding recipe.
The bond Pattie shared with her daughter, Carol, was one of her greatest joys. As best friends they were always there for each other through all seasons of life. They never missed a day of talking for hours on the phone.
Pattie shared 22 years of marriage with her husband, James Cupples. They married on Christmas Day in 2004. She cherished their time together and loved listening to him play his guitar and singing gospel songs with her.
Pattie is survived by her husband James Cupples; her daughter Carol Dulin (Richard Bevis); her grandson Shane Crow (Dana Shelton); her granddaughter Amy Greene (Robert Greene); her brothers Dewight Brown and Jerry Wynn; and her sister Brenda Wynn.
Pattie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Tilghman Brown; her mother Nina Brown; her brothers, Lee Brown, Joe Narris Brown, Gerald Brown; and her sisters, Judy Brown, Nina Mae Brown, Anita Brown and Evelyn Brown.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at Mason Wells Cemetery with Robert Greene officiating.
