Curtis Henry King was born July 23, 1938 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Joe Henry and Gladys Moore King.
He was united in marriage to Betty Ann King on April 15, 1989.
Mr. King was a heavy equipment operator for Bobby Bryant Construction in Collierville for many years. He also worked for Jason King and Danny Austin before retiring. Taking care of his mules, and in particular feeding them, was one of his favorite pastimes. He owned many mules during his lifetime, and always called them by the same names, such as "Pete," "Charlie," or "Peanut." Mr. King also enjoyed rabbit hunting, and would often say he was going to "loafer around for awhile."
Mr. King departed this life on August 15, 2020 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 82 Years, 23 Days. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty Ann King of Selmer, TN; three daughters: Rhonda Kyle and husband Bill of Selmer, TN, Penny McAfee and husband Daniel of Michie, TN, and Patty King and companion Jimmy of Pocahontas, TN; eight grandchildren: Jon Hanks and wife Mistie, Amanda Hanks and companion Jamie, Tiffany McAfee, Caleb Brewer, Shelby Moore, Trevor McAfee, Nic Childress, and Jessie Lambert; eleven great-grandchildren: Aliyah Hanks, Sacorra Lusk, Jayvon Hanks, Lincoln Hanks, Eleanor Hanks, Haddie Beth Moore, Jocelyn McAfee, Alyvia Brewer, Blakelyn McAfee, Maddox Brewer, and Jaxxon; three sisters: Dottie Jackson of Birmingham, AL, Nancy Lowry and companion Jerry Sparks of Selmer, TN, and Elizabeth Qualls and husband Charles of Selmer, TN; three brothers: Bob King and wife Becky of Paris, TN, Larry King of Ashland, MS, Ronnie King and wife Melissa of Hornsby, TN; a sister-in-law, Nelda King; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by a brother, Austin King; a brother-in-law, Charlie Jackson; and a sister-in-law, Kathy King.
