Curtis Morris, age 100, passed from this life Sunday night, August 2, 2020, at his home in Bolivar.
A native of Bolivar, he was a self employed carpenter, owning Morris Doors for about 30 years. He also worked for Baker Manufacturing. He was born Sunday, September 28, 1919, son of the late Hardy Wilson Morris and Mary Deenie Scott Morris and lived all of his life in the county. He married Julie Oneida Reid Morris on January 13, 1939 and she preceded him in death on December 21, 2008. Mr. Morris was a member of Dixie Hills Baptist Church.
Among his survivors are a son, Bobby Morris (Sharon) of Venice, FL; and two daughters, Gail Morris (David Newell) of Houston, TX and Peggy Basham of Gulfport, MS. 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death his wife, a son, Curtis Wayne Morris in 2015, a sister and a brother. * Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
