Mrs. Cynthia “Dee” Williams, age 92, entered her heavenly home on July, 18th, 2024. Mrs. Williams was born in the Old Union Community to the late Jodis “Chessie” Hopper and Mattie Idella Ganus-Hopper. In her youth, she attended school at Morris Chapel and lived with her parents and siblings in the Hardin County area. On May 2nd, 1970, she married her sweetheart Jerry Williams. Together, they made their home near Saltillo, TN. Along with her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her son, Troy (Cynthia) Williams, granddaughter Stephanie Williams, grandson Mark (Mallory) Williams, two great-grandchildren, Chloe Hope and Spencer Troy, sisters Wilma Drace and Linda Parks and brother James Henry “Buck” Hopper. Preceding her in death are two brothers, J. C. Hopper, Jr. and Elmer Hopper as well as two sisters, Kathleen Armstrong and Faye Stowell. Mrs. Williams served the majority of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling her grandchildren stories, cooking, playing Yahtzee, listening to gospel music and worshipping at New Prospect Baptist Church in Morris Chapel TN where she was a member. Family members will receive loved ones in the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville, TN on Monday, July 22nd from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM with Kenney Scott officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donations to the Crump Cemetery Fund and Gideons International.
