Daniel Leo Mather, a dedicated professional and passionate car enthusiast, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Middleton, TN. Born on April 29, 1948, in Norfolk, Nebraska, he lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep love for restoring classic automobiles and riding motorcycles.

Daniel built a commendable career spanning several decades. His early years included valuable experience as a mechanic and manager at Goodyear Tire in Nebraska, reflecting his mechanical skill and leadership capabilities. Later, he devoted 25 years of his life to Southwest Gas in Arizona, where he rose through the ranks to retire as Manager over the entire auto and truck fleet. His professional journey was characterized by a strong work ethic and commitment to his teams and responsibilities. He was very mechanically astute and could do anything mechanical with vehicles.

Beyond his career, Daniel was a man of hobbies and interests that brought him great joy. He delighted in restoring old cars, a passion he pursued with great enthusiasm by constructing a dedicated workshop at his home to bring these vehicles back to life. His enjoyment of motorcycle riding added another dimension to his love of motoring and adventure. His community years included living in Middleton for twelve years.

Daniel is lovingly survived by his mother, Cora Mather of Omaha, Nebraska, and his three children: daughters Devrin Mather of Middleton and Shannon Visconti of Pahrump, Nevada, and son Zack Mather of Greeneville, Virginia. His family circle extends to his siblings: Jim Mather of Denver, Colorado; Richard Mather of Venice, Florida; Ann Mather of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Cathy Christensen of Middleton; Mary Ellen Schomer and Sharon Mather of Lake Ozark, Missouri; and Beth Flory of Austin, Texas. Connie Lokensgard of Las Vegas, Nevada, his first wife and mother of his daughters, also remains part of his lasting legacy.

We remember Daniel’s father, Ivan Franklin Mather, and his second wife, Connie Mather, who preceded him in death. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved Daniel.

Daniel Leo Mather’s life was one of dedication, craftsmanship, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and kindness, a testament to the impactful life he led. His memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege to know him.
