Danna Sue Porter

Danna Sue Porter, 78, of Savannah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026.

Born on June 19, 1948 in Savannah, Tennessee, Danna Sue spent her life surrounded by family and friends whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted employee of Walmart, where she dedicated 45 years of service before retiring.

Danna Sue loved singing karaoke, attending senior dances with her sister and friends, and gathering with friends at McDonalds where laughter and conversation were always plentiful.

She was funny, quick-witted, independent, and stubborn to the very end.

She is survived by her son, Peter Porter and his wife Janet of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Patricia Davidson of Sheffield, Alabama; brother, Don Scott of Bartlett, Tennessee; grandchildren, Peyton Porter, Christian Porter, Joey Lynn Parrott, Jr., Jessica Stark, and Jason Brown, Jr.; and great grandchildren, Adley Porter, Aiden Parrott, Kiyrie Parrott, Ainsley Parrott, Alexis Faith Vaughn, and Bryson Taylor Stark.

In addition to her parents, Danna was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Pamela Short; sister, Peggy Plunk Steele; and brothers, James Marvin Scott and Bobby Lee Scott.

Above all, Danna Sue cherished her family. She was loving, kind, generous, and always willing to help others. Very rarely would you see her without a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her.
