DANNY GOODWIN
Danny Warren Goodwin was born March 10, 1945, the son of the late Warren and Loulean Goodwin. He lived in the Cabo and Jacks Creek area all his life. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1963. Danny retired from Gerdau Steel in 2007 after 24 years. He loved family, hunting, farming and anything outdoors.
Danny is survived by his wife Janice; son Richey (Wonda) Goodwin, daughter Molly (Bert) McClanahan and another son, Michael (Mary) Goodwin; five grandchildren, Shelby (Luke) Stone, age 33, Nick (Katie) Mayfield, age 27, Kera (Zach) Eaton, age 23, Mia Goodwin, age 18, and Mac Goodwin, age 14; and four great grandchildren, Emma, age 11, Grayson, age 6, Jake, age 3, and Neveah, age 3.
He is also survived by his brother, Lynn (Sandra) Goodwin and sister Pam (Jeff) Young, along with many friends and family members.
Danny passed on to his Heavenly home early Saturday morning January 3, 2026, after battling aggressive cancer for 2 years. He was home and surrounded by his family on the day before.
He was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church where he served in many roles with one being a Deacon.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday January 6, 2026, at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. James Huggins officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel in Henderson from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday January 5, 2026 and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM service time at the church.
