Mr. Danny Moss, age 69, of Bolivar, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Carol Fulghum Moss, who survives, he worked as a band director and educator for over 40 years and had worked with Hardeman County School system. He also was a minister of the gospel for over 30 years, pastoring at various churches in West Tennessee, most recently at Mt. Hebron Baptist in Mississippi and served as music director at many. He was born October 19, 1945 in Jackson, son of the late James Victor Moss and Irma Frances Comer Moss and lived most of his life here. An avid fan of the University of Tennessee, he was well known to the 'VOL Nation' listeners on the weekly call in show as 'Danny from Bolivar' and usually was the first to call in. He was a history buff, enjoyed an occasional round of golf and loved to cook. Mr. Moss was a member and pastor at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on December 22, 1968, survivors include a son, Brandon Moss of Jackson; and two grandchildren, Tristan and Alexa Moss of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Gene and Jimmy Moss. The family requests memorial donations in Mr. Moss' name be made to the Gideons International, Mt. Hebron Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
